One Last Snowy Day (Hopefully)

Here is how we spent what was hopefully the last snowy day of winter...

Lazy mornings filled with pj's and books. 

 Watching the snow (I promise her father is right on the couch behind her and we don't let our 2 month old dangle over the top of the couch)

 Taking a walk into town

 To our favorite coffee shop

Working on an art project inspired by this

 Taking warm baths and climbing on our father while soaking wet, a favorite activity for R.  It never fails to crack her up.

And enjoying a baby massage before bed.

Our day was also filled with homemade pizza, naps, lots of snuggles, and a family movie.  Not a bad way to mark the closing of winter and beginning of spring.

Grow

When I first began this blog I titled it with hope in mind.  Hope that not only would we be a blended family, but a family that grew.

Well, grow we have.  6 days ago we welcomed Addison (Addy) to the world.  She was born on January 11th at 9:33 p.m. after a nights stay in the hospital and 17 hours of labor.

  We stayed in the hospital for two days and were blessed with many visitors.  Addy is loved by grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends alike.

She has two very happy parents, who are admittedly tired, but head over heels in love with this little girl.

Grow, indeed.

Gratitude Day 7

I am grateful for...

...my niece Z and nephew D and the fact that they live so close.  Growing up, I was surrounded by cousins, over twenty of them.  They were my partners in crime, the guests at birthday parties, the creators of a thousand games.  I love how R and Z play together and how they sometimes let little D into the game.  Cousins are the best.

Gratitude Day 6

I am grateful for...

...my colleagues.  We are not often given easy tasks, we are asked to work way more than is appropriate,  and many things I see them do often go without acknowledgement or expressions of thanks.

Today I want to take the time to thank each and everyone of them.  For their laughter, their support, the shoulders I lean on, and the guidance they give.

Oh, and for the contraband candy that is hidden in their drawers.

Gratitude Day 5

I am so grateful for all of the people who came to my baby shower this weekend.  Thank you for the very generous gifts and for spending the day celebrating the new life to be.  Most importantly, thank you for the role that you will play in our child's life.  There is no doubt that this baby will be loved and nurtured.
